it's been a while since i've updated about the happenings here in the mardi gras house, but it's been a rather busy time. my nephew, alec, was here for about a month and a half but has gone back to michigan now. noe has been asking for him all day today. i think he may have to come back soon to keep her happy! while he was here, we went to the zoo, Grant's Farm, the Bird Sanctuary, Mastodon Park, and Six Flags (not to mention the pool), so i have quite a few great pics to post...but not at the moment. apparently my computer is low on disk space and won't be able to hold all the new pics until we clean it up a bit, so that will have to wait until i have the CD's to store things on. sorry! just imagine my cute little girls doing what they do best...being adorable!
after we dropped alec off, fai and i took the girls to chicago. we didn't have enough time to do much, but we did get to go to the Navy Pier. it was pretty cool. my favorite part, though, was on the way back to the car when we got to go inside the Chicago Tribune building. so cool! and we saw some weddings going on while we were there, too, and they were getting pics done in the middle of traffic! on the median! crazy, yet cool. the drive back through chicago was interesting...we had to drive through the ghetto (south chicago) to get to the interstate. scary enough to have us cringing every time we had to stop at a light. i locked the doors and prepared to duck if i saw a gun. i liked the city, but i don't think i'd like to live in one. i prefer being on the outskirts, i guess. i don't like traffic and such crowded sidewalks and the danger that seems to be living there. i'm glad i got to see it, though, and we will probably go back when we have more time to sight see.
mali is sitting up on her own and getting ready to crawl. she also eats like a champ! she nurses and then, an hour later (sooner if we'd let her), she'll eat two containers of baby food! then, she'll snack on cheerios while we finish our own food! she would keep right on going until she threw up if we didn't finally make her stop and take a bath!
the house hunting is still on going. we put an offer in on one house, but it didn't work out, so we're still looking. we'll probably be putting another one in on a house this saturday. there's a lot out there, it's just finding one that's right for us for the price we're willing to pay. we've been willing to take our time looking, but it's getting close to crunch time, here! i've seen over 30 houses and i'm ready to stop!
noe is showing signs of the terrible two stage. she's been telling me "no" a lot lately, though she usually ends up doing what i tell her to. she's whining a lot to get her way and throwing some more tantrums. all in all, though, she's still a really good girl and she's being really sweet to her mei mei. she shares her food with her, gives her toys, keeps her from eating "yucky" things, pats her when she's crying, give her the pacifier, and sometimes kisses her good night. the past couple days, she's even been playing with her which is really fun to see.
mali is getting her own room soon, though only until we move. she'll be moving into the spare bedroom for a couple months until she stops waking up in the middle of the night and fussing for her paci, and when she's ready to drop her 5am feeding. other than that, she's ready! i know we're ready to have our room back!
well, that's it for now. i will try to get pics up sometime in the next few days!
