it's been a week since i blogged, but i have a really good excuse this time that has nothing to do with the camera! i've been in florida, where the weather is warm, the water is clear, and the friends are single womb-ly populating the earth!!
fai had to take a class for his MBA in tampa, so the girls and i were on our own for the days. on monday, we pretty much rested from the day before (by the way, the girls were REALLY GOOD on the plane, so fai says they've earned the right to take a trip anywhere...the story, however, about all the troubles we had getting on the plane will wait for another day) and then had dinner with nate and bethany and mike and yen. nate and bethany had their little man a few months after we had our not so little lady. in fact, fai blames them for the fact that we have a second little lady because we were "racing" to see who could get pregnant first. i had a moment of madness...what can i say? little did i know that i was so fertile that even the thought of getting pregnant again was enough! i've been very careful about those wild thoughts ever since!! anyway, austin (the little man) is, of course, adorable. it's really funny. he looks like his mommy so much...until he smiles. then he is a copy of his daddy! which means that either i'm crazy, or his parents look too much alike.... then there's mike and yen who are due in december. now their situation is funny to me, as well, because yen wasn't sure she wanted to have a baby the last time i'd been there. she had resigned to it, however, because "it has to happen". also, she had referred to the babies i carried as parasites (in the nicest way possible) and talked about how the belly was growing. now, yen is having twins! and, no offense meant, but she still has two months to go...and she's bigger than i was with both of mine put together! okay, i'm exaggerating for the comedic effect. she actually looks really good (and i'm not just saying that because i don't even think she reads the blog).
on tuesday, i went to lunch with liz, a woman i used to work with, which was fun. hi, liz! thanks again for lunch and for the fish! then, on wednesday, i took the girls to the beach with another fertile friend, ari. she has a daughter, mackenzie, who is a couple months older than mali and just the sweetest little girl! she gave me hugs and kisses, and she shared with mali without even needing a prompt! the girls really liked the beach and got a nice little tan...again. then they slept for three hours! thursday we went with ari and mackenzie again to the aquariam, which noe really loved. she really wanted to see the dolphins, but i think her favorite part was the fish and turtles. that night, we went to their house for dinner (thanks, guys!). friday, i had plans, but they all fell through. we were going to go to lunch with yen, but she got really busy at work. then we were going to go to the goblin gathering festival with ari, but mommy had a visit from the kidney stone (ugh, this has really got to stop). oh, well.
we got back saturday around 4, came home and showered, then headed to church for the fall festival. it was noe's 2nd birthday, so we high jacked the festival as her party. she got to do the trunk or treat and get lots of candy. then we came home and bathed them and called family to let them sing her happy birthday. then she went to bed an hour late...and then daddy and mommy went to bed (9:36pm) and slept until almost 9 this morning (interrupted twice by mali needing fed and a diaper change). whew! it's been a busy week! and this week is pretty full, too.
now, apparently, i've also been tagged (wow...i used to be so good at this game and so fast that i rarely got tagged...guess i'm getting old!). so here are 7 random/weird things about me:
1. i have a strange "ritual" that i do with my mouth before i go to sleep...i really can't help it, and the more that fai points it out and laughs about it, the more i end up doing it!
2. i can wiggle my three middle toes on my right foot back and forth (double jointed or whatever they call it).
3. i am hawaiian but have never lived in hawaii.
4. i hate onions in my food...but i love onion rings. probably because they're deep fried, which just makes everything better.
5. i am a stay at home mom, but i am one of the most least domestic people i know!!
6. i write stories but won't let anyone read them (when i'm published, i'll have to be under a pen name).
7. if i don't get my afternoon nap, i'm crankier than the girls.
okay, that's me in a nutshell. now i get to pick people to tag:
jennifer erickson
mom (hehe, now you HAVE to write something on your blog)
amy
that's it. i'll catch you up on more next time! time to eat!!
