so i hate my dog right now. yes, it happened over 24 hours ago, but i can really hold a grudge and i'm given a very smelly reminder every time i change a dirty diaper...about three times a day. so it generally takes a few weeks for me to completely get over it. a friend of mine, trinity, left a comment on it with a really great suggestion, though: to get some poor sap to take him while i'm on spring break. yes, we realize that i am no longer in college and able to go on the typical spring break, but we know that this method is particularly successful to the satisfaction of...most...involved. the reason we know this is because that is how i unloaded my brother's cat...onto trinity.
also, i've been tagged again, but for a different subject which i have chosen to alter a bit. here are 7 things i've learned about being a stay at home mom of 2:
1. someone is always hungry, sleepy, cranky, whiny, bored and/or uncooperative. if both girls seem to be happy, then it must be me.
2. "no" can be the only word i say for an entire 24 hour period.
3. the second is never easier because you learned with the first because they are completely different, which i'm pretty sure they do simply to make me crazy.
4. "no" can be the only word spoken by a two year old in an entire 24 hour period.
5. "time out" is as much a punishment for a child as it is a blessed moment of semi-freedom for the parent.
6. there are not actually, as most believe, 24 hours in a day. there are about 6. 2 hours when the girls are napping, 1 for dinner, 1 for bath time, and 1 for family time before bed, and then that blessed hour after the girls are in bed that i can put my feet up and update my blog. the rest is realy just a blur of crying, screaming, time out and wishful thinking.
7. working full time was much MUCH easier than staying home...but much MUCH less rewarding.
i tag:
amy (also a stay at home mom of 2)
mom (for a perspective of the previous generation and a grandmother...and also because that seems to be the only way i can get her to update her blog)
