what you've been waiting for

i know you've all been waiting for pictures the past few months, not really reading the blog. it's kind of the opposite of "i only read it for the articles". anyway, here they are, your cuteness fix for a while. we have more that i haven't gotten up yet, so you have to keep coming back.

what we've been up to:
we had mali's birthday party, at last. it was a lot of fun for the kids and me. we also took the girls to chuck e cheese for valentine's day. you wouldn't believe how packed that place was! on valentine's day! i went to a couple of movies with some girl friends. "he's just not that into you" was fantastic! the best movie i've seen in a long time. "confessions of a shopaholic" was cute, too, though not nearly as great as the books (obviously...what movie is?). the missionaries have been a welcome addition to our family. we've had absolutely no problems with them and have actually enjoyed the company.

something very upsetting:
yesterday, i went to lunch with cynthia (a friend from church) and her daughter, olivia. we took the kids to mcdonalds to play on their playground. after a while, noe starts crying up in the tunnels. she stops after a minute and i see her move to another area. then she starts crying again. i see her move to another area. she starts crying again and yelling for mommy. olivia goes up to get her, but says that she won't follow her down, so i climb up to get her (that stair case is not made for people my size). i get there, and two little boys (one a few months younger than noe and the other probably about a year older) have her trapped in part of the tunnel, one boy behind her pulling her hair, the other in front of her, blocking her way to the stairs. i am livid! i move the upstarts and save my little girl. cynthia tells the grandmother of the boy who pulled noe's hair about what he'd done and she made him apologize, but i'm still so angry about it! the more i think about it, the angrier i get! she's two! she shouldn't have to worry about that sort of behavior! i had to teach her, when we got home, to tell people who hurt her "no, don't touch me!" as loudly as she could and then yell for help. the fact that she should have to learn that really pains my heart. it only reinforces my insistence that she and her sister (and all future siblings) take martial arts from three until they graduate high school. if i could start her earlier, i really would.

anyway, here are the pictures. enjoy!

my future pool hustler
"it all depends on how you look at it"
"Rrrrrrrrruh" (mali with sister ram)
"waltz?"
her first flower. i think she could get used to this

"hut, hut!" (we still have a little work to do with her sports understanding)
"Smile!"
a much prettier smile
"Wwwwwuh" (mali and sister waite)
"it's finally time for my party! let me pinch you to make sure i'm not dreaming!"
she devoured most of it before we could get a picture, but there was a whole cup cake there.

playing in the back yard for the first time!
the b-day party spread
getting ready for her party
saving the world one cup cake at a time (this is at a friend's super hero themed b-day party)
it's the simple things in life....
look at those pouty lips!
Her hair was all pretty and fixed in a clip, but it didn't survive the "fun".

Noe and her movie star "scarf" posing

she may not like my cooking, but she does love me!
showing mali how to eat pudding properly

"i'm not sure what i'm eating...but i look good doing it!"

They sure are pretty. They don't look much alike though. Looks like Mali is going to pass Noe up soon (Kat's the same way with Julia). And Kat got attacked on a McDonald's playground recently too. There must be a gang of thuggish little boys attacking innocent little 2 yr olds!

they do look completely different! you wouldn't think that would be the case, with only so many dominate genes to go around (and fai and i having a lot of the same ones), but there's very little alike about them! and mali has outgrown noe's pants and some shirts. all that's left is the height that she hasn't caught up with yet.

i think our girls are going to have to start traveling like college girls, in packs. and with mace. i can't imagine that little boys are so different from girls at that age, so they had to have learned that behavior somewhere, and it's rather scary to think where and how many of those boys are learning it. grr.

Very cute pictures! Sorry we couldn't be at the birthday party, I forgot it was the day of Luke's Valentine's party! It looks like fun though! Yummy food too! Crazy happenings at McD's too! Makes me nervous to send Luke to Kindergarten! And he's boy, although I don't think he is a thuggish one. Too many video games for some of these kids I think!

Let me at 'em!! How dare they touch my pumpkin!! I think I would have been seriously tempted to call the police and let them explain to the little brats about jail for touching people that dont want to be touched..I might still give them a call...Pumpkin and the bug look as adorable as always! and from what i can tell , the house looks pretty good too..i like the looks of the kitchen...more please..pictures that is..lol
