update and photos

i have been neglecting my blog lately in favor of facebook. i really think i need to cut back, but i just can't seem to help it. so here is what you have been missing with some photos to ooo and ah over at the end:

mali is our little dare devil. she has no fear! she jumps off the bed now that she's figured out how to jump. she slide down random things (make shift slides, i guess) head first! she climbs on everything! she's also speaking a lot now. she's repeating everything i say to her, which is great. she's gotten really good with please and thank you. unfortunately, she's also gotten to the stage where she can show me exactly what she wants and i can no longer pretend i don't understand. oh, well. you give and you get, i suppose.

noe has become a little social butterfly. she has a list of her favorite people to hang out with and talks about them all the time! she starts skipping and says it's "like brenton" or she wants to play "with lee", etc. where's my friends, mommy? they're at their house, honey. but why? and if she doesn't like the answer, she asks over and over again. i think i need to start having more play dates set up. you can see some pics below of her hanging out with brenton and ethan the other day.

we're shopping for a mini van now. we are so cool, i know. what's really bad..is that i'm really excited about it. i've been checking for good deals online every chance i get. we're not in a big hurry, but i can't wait now! i'm such a geek.

i've been doing a lot of yard work lately. the front of the house is nearly done along with the sides. i haven't started the back yet. i've been tearing out plants that i don't like and weeds, trimming bushes, raking, etc. i was going to take out those big holly bushes/trees on either side of the front door, but there appears to be a dove nesting in one. she's sittin on her eggs and looks so sweet that i don't want to disturb her. so that will have to wait. soon, though, i'm going to just have people over to take whatever plants they want that i don't. then i'll replace some with something that i like or just let the grass take over.

it all looks so innocent, doesn't it? (notice in this how far apart and the position of noe and brenton.)notice where they are now? noe kept scooting closer. brenton kept scooting away, until this is where they ended up.

he apparently didn't really mind, though, because this was taken after he'd gotten up to get more pop corn...and slipped right back into the seat he had before he got up when there was a whole empty couch to take instead.

ethan is facinated with the dog here, but still unsure. he warmed up fast, though, and mali showed him how to properly pound on him and grab his tongue and tail.

this is really why the dog was allowed to live inside again...he's a wonderful vaccum.

demonstrating the proper way to eat popcorn.

the gang at the start of the movie. this lasted all of ten minutes.
showing off for granny.

on the way to granny's, i let the girls keep their pj's on. then i told noe to get her shoes. she insisted on wearing her dress shoes, and this is the resulting fashion flub. daddy looks ok, though.

mali vs. the scree door. "what sort of deviousness is this?!"

watching my family and loving it!

one of our many trips to mcdonalds. that's all mali's food right there.

why do they always want to go up the slide instead of the stairs?

"noe, did you get into the cupcakes?"..."no, mommy."

this is a common view of mali.
