why god made suckers

this morning, noe asked to pee on the potty while she was wearing a diaper (usually she only says she wants to pee if she's completely bare bottom or, occassionally, wearing underpants). so i put her on her potty and she peed, without a fuss, and a really good amount (rather than the usual dribble she gives up as she cries). then she said she wanted to wear underpants. so we got her some underpants and i asked "what does it mean when we wear underpants?" to which she replied "pee in potty". so i cleaned up her potty and went about cleaning. a few minutes later, i went upstairs to change mali and put her down for a quick morning nap. usually noe stays downstairs while i do this (probably afraid she'll be made to nap if she goes up). but today, while i changed mali's diaper, noe comes in and says she needs to potty. i told her to go wait for me in the hall thinking she was just trying to get my attention away from her sister (she tends to do that a lot) and i continued putting mali down. then i joined noe and we went downstairs where she insisted again that she had to poop. so we went to the potty again and she promptly pooped (again, without fuss and without needing to hug me during). yay! so we put her underpants back on and cleaned up again, after which i told her how proud and happy i was that she used the potty again. she grinned and said "sucker for potty". ah, yes. the catch. oh, well. i'm willing to bribe and clean up the stickiness from her face and hair and hands and, most likely, my couch and own clothes, if it means she's willing to go to the potty!
