pulling and time out

noe's favorite game is "pulling". she puts a leg down between the sections of the couch (or her entire self) and says "uh oh." i reply "uh oh?" then she's tell me "stuck." so i used to give her my hand and tell her to "pull" until she'd gotten herself unstuck. now, though, i simply ask her if she can "pull" and she gets herself out. then she puts up her hands and says "one!" as in "i'm number one." this is quite adorable, really. and then she immediately gets herself stuck again. this game can go on for the better part of twenty minutes, which in noe time would be an hour.

time out has become a difficult concept to enforce lately. she knows what it means, that she has to go to a certain spot and sit down. the trouble is...she doesn't mind it. she will occasionally put herself in time out when she's done nothing wrong! the other day, she was doing something she wasn't supposed to and i asked "noe, do you want to sit in time out?" she, of course, said "yes." hm...what to do at this point?

mali has discovered her thumb as a comfort source. i have discouraged her a few times and substituted the pacifier, but i am pretty sure she will follow her sister's example and they will both end up needing thousands of dollars in orthodontia work.

well, i have no pictures or videos to post today. maybe next time. now i have to go quiet two crying girls and beat the barking dog.
