last night was the first meeting of the writers' group i've joined. it was just the basic introductory stuff to start with, setting out the rules and meeting times and getting to know each other a bit, but i am pretty excited about it. i have neglected my writing horribly since mali joined us and this should get me moving again. it gives me a deadline to have something done, so i HAVE to do it, which is how i got things done in college. i talked so much last night, though, that by the time i got home and was getting the girls ready for bed, i'd lost my voice. those of you who know me know that i talk a lot and it would really take a great deal to make me lose my voice, but it has happened...with the help of the virus i seem to have picked up. but after letting my voice rest for a while, i can talk again, albeit i am still horse. my baby looks at me rather strangely when i try to talk to her and sound so funny.
noe tried to put me in time out yesterday. why? because i wouldn't let her on my lap while i was feeding mali. when i laughed and told her i wasn't going to time out, she put herself in time out! she sat in her time out place and waited a few minutes, said "sorry", ran over for a hug, and went about her business playing. she did this about three times yesterday and it never got old for either of us! of course, it just goes to show how seriously she DOESN'T take time out.
we are leaving for kansas city tonight. fai has training for work tomorrow and friday and the girls and i get to go for a mini-vacation. i looked up some things to do while we're there and found this one farm place that looks promising, as long as the weather cooperates! fingers crossed.
we have reserved a babysitter for a yet unspecified date. now that mali is able to go a little longer without me, i'm getting out for some adult time! not real long, but long enough, hopefully, to satisfy my need for adult conversation that doesn't revolve around kids. we'll see. at least it's a start! i'm so excited that i don't know what to wear or what we'll find to do!
i don't have any pics to post at the moment, but i'll have some from kansas city when we get back.

Well, if you like Korean or Japanese we know some places! I also know an Italian place where the cheese spread is like crack.
