memorial day

my daughter said "love you"! is there anything better in the world than hearing that from your child? so far...i don't think there is! she also has been saying "bless you" when someone sneezes, which i think is also pretty darn cute. and she's "reading" to us. the other day, she sat down on her potty (pants and diaper still on, of course) and picked up the newspaper that daddy had left in there, and started reading. when she was done, she put the paper down and flushed the big potty and said "done" and wanted to wash her hands. where she learned this, i'm not sure. she does not go to the bathroom with daddy and mommy doesn't take a newspaper to the potty! like i would have enough time to read anything when i'm home alone with the girls. i usually have about 20 seconds before someone is crying or falling or getting into something. i've learned to either hold it forever or empty my bladder in about ten seconds, leaving me a few seconds to wash my hands, but not dry them, before i'm back out in the living room or kitchen, wiping my hands on my pants, and saying repeatedly "it's okay, mommy's right here."

mali has been doing quite well on the solid food. you have to feed her really fast, though, or she starts screaming for more. she sleeps much better again, so i'm pretty sure that the problem before was just that she wasn't getting satisfied on the breast milk any more.

well, mali is crying for her last feeding of the night now (i've noticed that she insists on this even though i KNOW she's not really hungry), so i'm going to rescue fai who has been trying to put her to sleep but, apparently, doesn't have the right equipment. enjoy the pictures:

Roman tries to follow me into the bathroom. I don't know what he thinks happens in there!
