we got the girls dressed up for church with new dresses from nai nai and butterfly clips in their hair. adorable!! then i drew a "tattoo" on noe's arm of a heart with "dad" written in it. she totally pulled of the look.
unfortunately, we didn't get to have a good daddy day/birthday dinner and desert because mommy didn't get to the grocery store the night before to get the things i would have needed. so daddy had spam and crystal light. yum. then we started mali's bed time routine. she actually is doing pretty well with it at night. she only fusses for a little bit and she is easily comforted without having to pick her up. it takes about an hour for her to give it up for the night. during the day, however, it's not that easy. nap time is going to be a battle.
since sunday night was kind of a bust, i tried to make sure that monday made up for it. i took the girls to the grocery store and got the ingredients for daddy's oreo cheesecake and a couple movies from the redbox. we had wings for dinner and i taught noe how to blow on the party horn. after the girls went to bed, we watched the movies, then skipped the cleaning portion of the night and went to bed (2am). and i am happy to report that mali did not wake up until 8am. i think that tonight she should go to bed with very little trouble.
noe has been getting a lot better with her communication. she's using short sentences and her enunciation is improving all the time. she says bye bye to EVERYTHING, and she's been learning numbers and letters. yesterday, she tried to put on daddy's pants. if i hadn't been holding her and mali on my lap at the time, i would have gotten the camera and recorded it. i'm sure it will happen again, though.
mali is eating cheerios and has started juice today. she was pretty excited about it. she is also wearing a lot of the same outfits as her older sister. she likes her sister a little too much, though, and tries to grab her whenever she's close enough. unfortunately, it hurts noe (i trim the nails, but they are still sharp and she has a really strong grip!) who then gets mad and wants to push her away.
today, for dinner, i'm going to pack a picnic and take everyone to the park. it's so nice out the past few evenings that i want to take advantage of it. since noe didn't get to go to play group today (it was swimming and mali isn't old enough for sun screen yet) i think it would be nice for her to get out and run for a while today. i'm buying a double stroller this week, so i'm hoping to get to take the girls out to a lot more places after that, like the zoo and grants farm and back to the butterfly house and things like that. it will be a lot easier and safer with the double stroller. and my nephew will be joining us on saturday. we're pretty excited about it. i'm hoping he'll enjoy his time here, so i'm looking for things for him to do.
i'll get some pictures up tonight from the picnic.
