halloween has started early around the mardi gras house. i've decided that this town house is the perfect setting for a halloween theme. i didn't decorate or anything...but the horrible colors that are already on the walls make it scary enough.
on monday, we took the girls to boo nights at the zoo. it was too cold for noe to be a ballerina, so i borrowed a costume from a friend at church and she went as a dragon. it was really adorable and noe loves dragons (i don't really know why, though). both of the girls really liked the petting area (indoors) where they got to pet a chincilla, guinea pigs and noe even pet a snake (ew), and they really loved the little show they put on in the children's zoo, too. so much so that both of them tried to get on the stage several times and threw tantrums when we wouldn't allow it.
tuesday night was the PAT fall festival. it was indoors, so noe got to be the ballerina and mali was a dragon. fai pointed out that they were Beauty and the Beast, which was really quite fitting if you think about it. although, they are both quite beautiful. it was so funny, though, to see mali crawling around as the dragon! they did the same for play group at church on wednesday. tonight, we went to the library for the kids' halloween craft night. tomorrow is the trick or treating at the library (the scooby doo marathon comes first...very excited about that). then the real trick or treating is tomorrow night. i haven't checked the weather for that yet, but it's been really nice the past couple nights, so hopefully it'll stay that way.
we closed on our house this morning. we are now the proud owners of one house, the not so proud owners of another house, and the even less proud renters of the mardi gras house. we start working on the house on saturday. we'll do things as we can little by little until the big push on the 22nd of november.
here's the cuteness you all tune in for. sorry, i don't have pics from the boo nights at the zoo to share. they're all on a disposable camera we had to buy since our other camera broke and mommy forgot to bring the older one.
