not for lack of trying

for those who don't know, i have a dog. a big golden retriever who is just over three years old. he is completely trained and puts up with the kids with amazing patience. for those of you who do know about him, you know he's a good dog overall and that i worked really hard to get him that way. well, i still have the dog, though through no fault of my own.

the dog has not run away, been poisoned, been given away or sold; though that's not for lack of trying. the problem with wang cai is that he's developed an affinity for dirty diapers. we keep him locked up when we're not around for just that reason, because i have been driven crazy with cleaning up digusting piles of his "fun". it started because he was jealous of me taking the kids out so much and leaving him home. then he just decided he liked it and nothing i have tried has helped break him of it. it's become a major problem for more reasons than that, though. the diapers are toxic. he's made himself sick a few times. also, the girls like to stick their fingers in his mouth and let him lick their feet. mali is crawling, and i hate to let her crawl now on the floors even after i've cleaned them because you just never know if you might have missed something and everything goes into her mouth! and then there's the issue of his breath! ew! and so, i've decided that the dog has to go. but then we couldn't find anyone to take him. edpsite his getting sick from the diapers, they have yet to actually kill him. and this morning, i was so angry with him that i beat him, tossed him outside (no small feat considering he's 70lbs), and closed the door. i looked out the window to see him happily running in the opposite direction of the town house. "good", i thought and turned to the business of cleaning up his latest mess. well, when i opened the door a little while later to put the trash out, the idiot dog was waiting to come in for more beating. feeling generous, i obliged him, and then locked him back up in the kitchen where he's perfectly happy to rest after his walk. i will have to be more creative in my ideas to get rid of him.

Just find a crazy sap to take him while you're on spring break. ;)
